First Class (7th of October) with Sébastien from Yukiko:
We will have a short introduction on editorial design practice at Yukiko to have a private insight behind the scene of the book production from connecting till receiving the final object.
Then we will define the concept of the publication, the editorial angle for each participant and review material and content that will go inside the publication.
Participants will have to come already with a concept/theme, material ideas they would like to explore and work on for the class.
Second Class (21st of October) with Tonia and Sébastien from Yukiko:
The Participants will have two weeks to gathered final content, bring final texts and images to start working on the brochure.
This class will focus on Typography and Visual Language. We will explore typefaces, where to find them, play with them, mix them to give a unique visual language to tailor to each participant’s concept.
Third Class (28th of October) with Klara and Sébastien from Yukiko:
We will build the layout, set grids, think about hierarchy and introduce rhythm to create a dynamic narration throughout the pages while maintaining a strong system from page one to final page.
Fourth Class (4th of November) with Klara, Tonia and Sébastien:
We will finalize the editing and sequencing of the content on that class. Each participant will have to print a black and white dummy at the beginning of the Class in order to make last changes, see what is working and what needs to be modified in the lass class.
Production Weekend: (7th and 8th of November) with Colorama and Sébastien:
We will prepare and export files for print and then assemble the result to produce the final brochure together for each participant.
Infos:
Participants will have to bring their laptop to work on the Adobe Suit (Indesign for layout and type work)
During each class, participants can freely develop further their projects in between classes.
