Studio Lunch by Colorama & Friends – Recipes for a collective workday

An ovenless kitchen, DJ Restes, what to eat when the interns aren’t around, recipes passed from one person to another, and marking time through food: the book brings together recipes and stories from artists, designers and artist-run studios in different places.

It looks at the everyday ways we feed each other while working — lunches improvised from what is left in the fridge, recipes that become studio traditions, neighbourhood grocery shops, celebrations, limited time and money, and the knowledge that accumulates in a shared kitchen as people come and go.

Rather than separating cooking from creative work, Studio Lunch asks what we can learn from the meals that happen alongside it: about collaboration, care, resourcefulness, routine and living and working together.

Edited by Johanna Maierski, designed by SM Studio, and made together with contributors from the extended Colorama community and artist-run spaces internationally.
