This workshop has a focus on production and experimentation, from file prep to final product. Make your own book—start to finish—in 3 sessions.
Design, print, bind, embellish, and walk out with a finished edition in hand.
20 riso colors. A table full of binding tools. Your ideas & our support
A hands-on, fully guided book production experience in our studio!
If you are still in the conceptual stages of your project, please see Self-publishing consultation.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to realise your publication idea, how to print, fold and bind it. You will be involved in the process every step of the way. Expect a deep dive into paper qualities, the economics of self-publishing, riso-printing advice and feedback on your concept.
Who is this for?
For anyone who has a clear vision of a publication they want to realise with our guidance. Participants should be comfortable using Photoshop and InDesign and have taken one of our Riso workshops before (or have other prior riso experience). We will strategise your project based on your knowledge and abilities. If you would like to work without a computer, get in touch.
What should I bring?
Please bring a dummy for your project and a laptop with Photoshop / Indesign installed. You should come with a clear vision for your project. If you need some guidance in the conceptual phase and in creating a dummy for your project, please book a self-publishing consultation beforehand.
What do I take home?
Your own publication in an edition of 20. Included in the workshop are 3 sheets A3, printed in up to 4/4 colors plus the cover material. If you have a bigger scope in mind (more pages or higher edition), please get in touch. We will charge additional material costs and time on top.
