A Space is the Place where the Body is examines the nostalgic subject as a key figure of the present; how space and place are constructed and given meaning. The cottage acts as a nostalgic trigger in an accelerating world, and in an abundance and constant repetition of signs and
affective symbols, the body becomes the venue for socio-economic processes. (Pop)-cultural references are used to observe how media shape the understanding of identity, belonging and performativity. Where do ideas of tradition and the home manifest themselves? What can feminist dissent look like?
