A special two-session Artist Book Workshop with Hannah Yukiko Pierce of Small Editions (NYC) on Monday September 25th (4-8pm) and Wednesday September 27th (4-8pm).
What is an artists’ book? And how do you start one? In this beginner’s workshop you will learn about the origins of artists’ books, see examples of books that successfully bond form to content, and then you will learn how to take your own idea from concept to dummy. Over two sessions you will research and develop a concept, then bind a complete book dummy to take home.
In order to maximize the time in this intensive, participants should come with one or two project ideas that deal with “home” or “change”. This will allow us to better ideate and provide feedback on each other’s projects during the workshop.
